LabourBlawg Rebranding as EmploymentBlawg with Purchase of Employment-Blawg.com Domain Name. While this site was set up almost 15 years ago given that ‘Labour Law’ was the title of the employment law course at the University of Glasgow (for which this Editor somehow received an A grade), it now has too many political connotations and it really is known as employment law moreso these days, with HR and settlement agreements becoming two of the main strands of employment law. And in the US, it’s known as employment and labor law, so the ‘Labour’ name didn’t fit there either. So without further ado, details on this site’s renaming as follows and follow @EmploymentBlawg on Bluesky here and follow EmploymentBlawg on LinkedIn here too.
We are pleased to announce that LabourBlawg is undergoing a rebrand to become EmploymentBlawg, a change that more accurately reflects our core focus on employment law. This transition is marked by the acquisition of the Employment-Blawg.com domain name, a development aimed at enhancing our accessibility and appeal to employment law practitioners and the general public alike.
Since its establishment, LabourBlawg has been committed to delivering high-quality legal commentary and news on employment law matters that impact both employers and employees. With this rebranding, EmploymentBlawg will continue to address key issues, including employment contracts, workplace rights, discrimination law (covering sex, age, and disability discrimination), TUPE transfers, redundancy, harassment, minimum wage compliance, and the nuances of settlement agreements.
The transition to EmploymentBlawg underscores our aspiration to expand as a trusted source of employment law insights and resources across multiple jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, and beyond. This rebrand also aligns with our objective to address the increasingly global nature of employment law issues, particularly those involving directors and senior executives.
As part of this evolution, we will:
- Redesign our logo and branding to reflect the new EmploymentBlawg identity.
- Update our social media profiles to align with the EmploymentBlawg name, ensuring consistent engagement with our audience.
- Continue to offer a comprehensive employment lawyer directory to connect readers with experienced employment law solicitors.
- Maintain a strong focus on delivering insightful and practical content for legal professionals, HR practitioners, employers, and employees.
